I’m re-relaunching the site. After struggling with Civic Space, trying to make it simple and usable I gave up on it and have now switched to WordPress. So far so good.

To start, we will be posting recaps and notes about Indiana Democratic Club meetings, reminders of upcoming meetings and information on actions or events sponsored, hosted or of interest to the Indiana Democratic Club. Users will have the ability to comment on posts. This will be especially useful to continue discussions from club meetings onto the website.

Eventually there will be small pages for each local democratic club listing when and where the meeting is as well as contact information. It will also be possible to offer email addresses a subdomain for other local clubs, such as president@[clubname].indianademclub.org. If you are a contact for a democratic club in Indiana and would either like an email like that or just want to update your club’s information, please leave a comment in this entry or use the contact form and I will get back to you.

If you are a club president or contact, you might want to check out our Services for Other Democratic Clubs. The services are limited (for now, hopefully) but you might find them useful.

Also, a full fledged forum is now up and running. You can check that out by following this link. You can post without registering for the forum, but if spam and trolling becomes too difficult to deal with from non-registered users we may restrict the forum to registered users. We promise we will not share your email address with anyone. Also, if you are a dues paying member of the Indiana Democratic Club, email me with your name and forum ID and I will make sure you have access to Members Only parts of the forum.

Of course, always feel free to tell me your ideas, comments and criticisms in the comments of any post on the site (although, preferably, this one).

Bugs Update 7: Events list is working. New theme is working. Forum is up and running, matching the theme of the blog as much as possible at this time. Only thing still broke is the category list on the Archives page. Implemented a spam blocker. If you notice your valid comments are being blocked, let me know and I’ll make sure to check the logs.
